That’s a Moray 4/1/07

Today felt like we were in Italy for the first time. After our sites, most of the group took the bus back to the hotel but a few of us stayed in old Syracuse for the rest of the afternoon. We walked around the town. There was a place to climb down onto rocks in the water and then onto a beach so we all rolled our pants up and skipped rocks in the Mediterranean. We ate gelato in a piazza in the center of town by a fountain. There was a small aquarium in Syracuse with lots of tanks of tropical fish. We spent an hour walking through there. There were some pretty wild fish in there but I think the worst was the Moray eel. It was really disgusting and it swam out of its pot to see us every time we got close to it. In the evening we went out to eat. I had a great spinach and tomato calzone and ordered it in Italian. After dinner we walked back to our hotel.
