This afternoon we finished a little early so Erika, Anna Mar and I decided to go shopping east of Rome where we thought we would be able to get a few things to update our wardrobes for the newly hot weather. None of us were exactly sure how to get here but we were ready for an adventure. We quickly figured out where to catch the right train and got on it no problem. Once we got to Lunghezza, we figured out which direction the mall was but we weren’t sure which bus to take so we let the 314 drive by while we went to ask which to take. As it turns out, the 314 was the bus we needed and to our surprise it was a 45 minute wait for the next one.
We debated while we were waiting if we should just get back on the train since we were supposed to be back for a birthday dinner celebration at 7 but the right bus finally came so we decided to go. Even though we were on the right bus, it never actually stopped at the Roma Est mall and we drove right by it. For miles driving away we saw “Roma Est Arividerci” (sp?) signs.
Luckily though we found new quicker way back to the city by taking another bus and then the metro. It was pretty exciting to know that we could figure out how to get where we needed to go from a random town outside of the city. And we made it back in time for dinner.

Good work. I was very impressed by your group's ability to figure out new surroundings. Public transportation is usually efficient, and always confusing at first. I still haven't mastered the Paris bus system.
